故事发生在上世纪20年代，费什尔是一个种植园主的女儿。从海外留学回来后，她爱上了英俊的农夫吉米，可是两人的地位背景悬殊。吉米的父亲是个酒鬼，母亲又有精神问题，而且正就职于费什尔家族种植园的一家商店。费什尔想像上流阶层那样拒绝吉米，以取悦掌握家族财政大权的老处女姑妈。但是这个决定让她非常痛苦。当费什尔丢了一颗钻石后，两人的关系更加紧张了……。6 out of 7 people found the following comment useful.
