九一八事变后，东北沦陷，天津某剧社演员陈彼得（陈佩斯 饰）不甘当亡国奴，立誓要做民族英雄。一日，正当剧院上演爱国题材话剧时，男一号罢演，救场如救火，导演（赵雍 饰）只好让陈彼得顶替，结果大获成功，台下看演出的宋将军（侯永生 饰）对陈的表演大加赞赏。当时宋将军来天津是为抗日部队采购军火，不料遭日谍龙太郎（陈佩斯 饰）刺杀，宋将军巧妙躲过一劫。龙太郎诱骗陈彼得再次行刺，结果阴差阳错，反而杀了龙太郎的人，宋将军大难不死，与彼得结下友谊。龙太郎闻讯恼羞成怒，四处追捕陈彼得，走投无路的彼得躲进一家整形医院，被医生按在手术室的床上，不由分说在脸上动了手术，手术后的彼得活脱脱变成了龙太郎。得知此情，龙太郎吩咐手下照自已的长相上街抓人，结果笑料百出……。雷纳德（让-吕克·文森特 Jean-Luc Vincent 饰）是一位小有名气的作家，而阿兰（吉约姆·卡内 Guillaume Canet 饰）则是一直负责雷纳德的作品出版和销售的编辑。虽然两人表面上看来是互惠互利的合作关系，但实际上，这两个男人之间的气氛非常的紧张，几乎到了一触即发的程度。 某日，雷纳德完成了自己的新手稿，哪知道阿兰竟然拒绝将其发行公之于众，这成为了他们矛盾的爆发点。赛琳娜（朱丽叶·比诺什 Juliette Binoche 饰）是一位女演员，同时也是阿兰的妻子，其实很多年来，她一直维持着和雷纳德的地下恋情，这层特殊的关系也让这次爆发的冲突变得更加复杂起来。。SYNOPSIS Urgently called, the police inspector has arrived in a hotel, and didn't find any crime, but noticed some strangenesses occurring there. (Strugatsky Brothers website) NOTES This is a crime / mystery thriller with surreal and psychedelic science fiction overtones based on a book Inspector Glebsky's Puzzle by the Strugatsky brothers. The screenplay was also written by the brothers and it differs from the book. The less you know about the movie the better starting point you have. The film is based largely on the mystery of what's happening to the people of Dead Mountaineer's Hotel. Is everything what it seems? Who's dead or who's not?。
